This is a list of interesting facts about history. It’s not comprehensive, of course. There are many more interesting facts about history I could have included. But these are the ones I thought were most fascinating.

Christianity was famous in the roman empire. This religion took place in the later period towards the end of the roman empire.



Hinduism has had its roots since 3000 BC when people worshiped nature and natural things like trees, lakes, etc. The Hindu priests are known as Brahmins who take part in many ceremonies including weddings and funerals.


Judaism is one of the oldest religions worldwide recognized for its attachment to religious beliefs. It is mainly famous in Israel today but it was founded by Abraham back in the 16th century B.C that became a popular belief until the early 1st century A.D when the Romans conquered Jerusalem.


Buddhism was founded by Siddharta Gautama in the 6th to 5th centuries B.C in Nepal and India that sparked its fame in many parts of Asia like Japan, Sri Lanka, etc. This religion is divided into two groups namely Hinayana and Mahayana Buddhist traditions.


Confucianism is one of the oldest religions in China where people dedicate their lives to being loyal, filial, and respectful towards ancestors following this philosophy described by K’ung Fu Tzu or Confucius back in 551 B.C. According to the beliefs, every believer aims to become a “junzi” – a superior man or gentleman.


Islam was founded by Prophet Muhammad in the Middle East back in 610 A.D as an expansion of Christianity and Judaism where he preached that there is only one God and all other faiths after he is just mere fabrications.


Sikhism was founded by Guru Nanak Dev Ji in 15th century India based on the principles of equality and brotherhood for human beings irrespective of their caste, color, or creed. This religion emphasized its belief through five symbols including long hair, steel bracelet, comb, sword, and a special type of underpants –Kachhehra.


Jainism was founded by Mahaveer back in the 6th century B.C based on the principles of peaceful and simple life and non-violence to all living beings. Followers of this religion believe that it can be achieved through meditation, fasting, and practicing non-violence against any form of life including animals and insects. They also wear masks over their mouths since breathing kills small organisms like flies etc.


Taoism is one of the oldest religions that originated from China back in the 14th century B.C based on the practice of achieving harmony with nature believing that everything started from a force called Tao (meaning “the way”). Followers of this religion were required to abstain from worldly pleasures and embrace simplicity in life. They also lived simply wearing plain clothes, dwelling in caves, and meditated regularly.


Shintoism was founded by the Yamato people back in the 12th century B.C based on the belief that every living being has a kami, a spiritual essence that can be either good or evil. Followers of this religion pray to these spirits through offering gifts including rice cakes, salt, and sake as well as performing ceremonies for purification purposes where they wash their bodies with water three times because it is believed that each time dirt is removed from the body so does a bit of bad spirit within them along with this water.


Zoroastrianism is one of the most ancient religions worldwide based on a set of principles that every human being needs to follow to achieve happiness and salvation. It was founded by Zarathustra or Zoroaster who believed that all humans are free to choose between right and wrong as well as good and evil. Followers of this religion mainly live in Iran, India, Pakistan, and some parts of Europe today. They pray multiple times a day bowing their heads down towards fire believing it is their God’s symbol.
